Nar Phu Valley Trekking is a high altitude trek that involves the risk of altitude sickness, which is also known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). This happens when your body did not get acclimatize properly with the elevation. It is very important to protect yourself from AMS to complete the trek. As in worse can it can ruin the entire journey. - Do not drink alcoholic beverages
- Do not gain more than 500 meters in a day
- Try to spend the night in lower altitude
- Acclimatize properly at a lower altitude

Nar Phu Valley Trek difficulty
Nar Phu Valley Trek is a difficult trek to the most isolated part of the Annapurna region. The trail is mostly well-made, however high altitude, steep & rugged path, and terrain make is little difficult overall. You need to walk 6 to 7 hours a day. For all these, good physical fitness, health, and will-power are needed. If you have prior trekking experience, then it will help you a lot during the trek.
Best time to go to Nar Phu Valley Trek
As per our experience, October to November (autumn) and March to April (spring) is the best time to go on Nar Phu Valley Trekking. The trail during this time of the year is very beautiful and rewarding. You will get to see colorful rhododendron and other numerous floras bloomed all over the trail in spring. Whereas, in autumn, Nepal celebrates numerous festivals including the most significant ones. The weather is temperate and the sky is clear. Views are also at its best.
Accommodation during Nar Phu Valley Trek
Nar Phu Valley Trek is a teahouse trek. The teahouse is run by locals and the facilities are pretty basic. The ambiance more turns to a homely vibe than a hotel in the tea house. You can find a hot shower, twin-sharing rooms, and limited furniture in the room. We highly recommend you to carry a good sleeping bag with yourself. Likewise, the dining area is the common space and the warmest place in the teahouse, where you can spend some time and warm up yourself.
Food & Water on Nar Phu Valley Trek
During the Nar Phu Valley Trek, all meals will be served as per the menu of the tea house. The menu will have a diverse variety from a sandwich to porridge. While traveling with us, we will select the best home-cooked for you that is not only hygienic, delicious, and nutritious, but also are affordable and filling. You will be given three meals a day. If you feel hungry any other time, you are free to munch on your own expenses. Likewise, boiled water is available in the teahouse. You can refill your bottle every time it gets empty paying a small fee. Don't buy plastic water bottles as it will be very expensive and increase waste.
