One of our representatives will pick you up from the Airport and take you to the hotel. Rest and get refreshed. Later, in the evening, you meet with other team members over traditional welcome dinner and cultural dance. Stroll some time in the colorful and lively streets of Thamel and end your day.

Today, you will go on a sightseeing tour for various UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After having breakfast, you meet with your tour guide and drive to the sites. You visit places like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later, in the day, you will also prepare for the trek.

A scenic drive leads you to Jagat. During the drive, you get to witness rolling green hills, small settlements, and terraced farms.

From Jagat, you ascend and rach Chamche. Crossing a thrilling suspension bridge, you reach Tal. Tal is a beautiful village located at the bank of the Marshyangdi river. The trail gradually ascends to Dharapani crossing several bridges.

Following, a trail through pine, fir, oak, and maple forests, you reach Chame. Chame is the headquarter of the Manang district. Enjoying wonderful views of Annapurna range and Lamjung Himal, you move ahead. On the way, you come across a small hot spring, where you can take a short break and relax.

Trekking through a steep narrow valley, you head towards Upper Pisang. the trail offers superb views of Paungda Danda rock face, Annapurna II, and Pisang Peak. Further, you descend to the Manang Valley Floor and move towards Upper Pisang. You also pass through heaven get today.

The trail ascends via Geru village along with presenting amazing views of Annapurna range, Tilicho Peak, and Pisang Peak. You will trek through Tibetan settlement and reach Manang. You get to see excellent views of Ngawal (3,660 m).

The day begins early in the morning. Have a warm breakfast and gear yourself. Hiking on a rugged path, you reach stunning Ice Lake. From here, you get to witness surreal landscape views. After spending some time, you descend back to the teahouse.

Today, you will visit the ancient Braga monastery and explore the village. You can also visit the Himalayan Rescue Association, where you get to know more about altitude sickness. Spend the rest of the day interacting with locals and learning about their lifestyle.

The trail leads you to Sri Kharka. From here, you descend to Khangsar village and pass through a thousand years old monastery, Tare Gumma. The trail moves along a rock wall and crosses a bridge over Thorong Khola Valley. Further, you ascend and reach Yak Kharka from where you can see excellent views of several Himalayan mountains.

The trail climbs to Thorong Phedi from where wonderful landscape views can be seen. On the way, you get to witness stunning views of Thorong Peak, Mt. Syangang, Mt. Gundang, and other mountains.

It is going to be a tough and long day. Following a steep path, you ascend to Thorong La Pass. It is one of the most challenging passes of the Annapurna region. From the top of this pass, you get to see excellent views of Himalayas. Further, the trail descends to Muktinath, a sacred temple of Hindus and Buddhists.

The trail today leads you to Jomsom, a beautiful village. On the way, you get to see the desert-like landscape. From Muktinath, the trail drops down to Kagbeni and follows the Kali Gandaki river. On the way, you get to see the deepest gorge in the world, Kali Gandaki gorge.

After having breakfast, you take a scenic flight back to Pokhara. During the flight, you get to see aerial views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon landing at the airport, you move to the hotel Rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore around.

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) Symptoms & Prevention

Annapurna Circuit Trek is a high altitude trek that involves the risk of altitude sickness, which is also known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). This happens when your body did not get acclimatize properly with the elevation. It is very important to protect yourself from AMS to complete the trek. As in worse can it can ruin the entire journey. Therefore, we take a very careful ascent profile with ample rest days and take all necessary measures to aim to prevent AMS - see more information below.

Preventive measures

  • Include an adequate number of rest days in the itinerary

  • Try to spend the night in lower altitude
  • Acclimatize properly at a lower altitude
  • Inform your guide immediately if any of the symptoms you see

Best time to go to Annapurna Circuit Trek

The best time to go to Annapurna Circuit Trekking is in spring and autumn. Months from March to May and October to November fall under these seasons. This time is also the peak of the trekking season in Nepal. As per data, the weather usually stays stable during this time of the year along with the moderate climate. Likewise, the entire region becomes colorful with several species of flowers.

Monsoon (June to September) to Winter (December to February) is not the ideal time to go on Annapurna Circuit Trekking due to unstable weather and chilly climate. The rainfall makes the slippery and prone to landslide, whereas the winter brings the harsh cold with itself.

Accommodation during Annapurna Circuit Trek

As per the availability, you will either stay overnight in a lodge or teahouse. You will have basic rooms enough to spend a night or two. Usually, rooms come under twin-sharing, therefore if you are looking to get a single room then let us know priorly. Likewise, the washroom at most of the place is common.

Food & Water on Annapurna Circuit Trek

The meals will be served as per the menu of the lodge or tea house. You can find Nepali, Continental, Tibetan, and Indian cuisines. Dal Bhat and curries are the most staples, filling, and affordable ones. However, you have the option to choose from dishes like sandwiches, pasta, momo, thukpa, bread, eggs, meat, etc.

Water is available in all the tea shops and lodge. You can carry a reusable water bottle with yourself and fill up every time you need it. We highly request you to not buy water bottles on the trail, as it will reduce the waste and keep the environment safe.
